Stavros Tavern takes its guests on a multi-sensory journey to the Aegean Sea and all of its bounty and beauty via soulful menus that also boast a welt selected wine list of local and Imported Greek wines.

Stavros Tavern design recalls the islands of Greece. With its clean blue, gray, and white palette, it pays homage to the rocky coast lines with sandy beaches, charming villages, white-washed houses, and bright blue skies that are emblematic of Greece. Stavros has also added a personal touch with a wall of family photos and incredible painting of quite Greek seaside villages of days gone by.

Owned, operated, and managed by Stavros, the restaurant pays tribute to their Greek heritage. Our goal is to bring the Greek style of hospitality to the heart of Melbourne. Before Stavros Tavern opened in 1979, Greek cuisine in Melbourne was limited to dishes like Souvlaki, Greek Salad and Baklava. Stavros Tavern helped introduce Greek cuisine as an elegant and sophisticated choice in the Melbourne City dining scene by introducing more complex lesser known authentic Greek dishes.
